DevInfo registry

The DevInfo Registry (global.zip) is the repository of the global database elements as defined by the Global System Administrator (GSA).

A read only copy of the registry is available on your local hard disk.

In DevInfo Database Administration, using update registry, you can update the local copy with the most recent changes made in the global.zip. The Update Registry option lets you update the local copy of the DevInfo registry.

To access the global.zip file, you need to provide the following information in the update registry window:

• Server Name: The computer name that contains the file.
• User Name: The login name to access the server.
• Password: Password assigned to the login name.
• Directory: Folder location on the server.
