The online version of MDGInfo Sri Lanka, a customized version of the DevInfo v5.0 database system, was launched in 2007.

The MDGInfo Sri Lanka database, developed by the Department of Census and Statistics contains information on the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) indicators.

The online database stores, retrieves and presents trends and patterns in the form of tables, graphs and maps for tracking progress in achieving the MDGs. Sri Lanka has made significant progress towards achieving many of the MDGs.

MDGInfo Sri Lanka offers an intuitive and user friendly interface. Users can browse and select indicators on the basis of sectors, goals, or by data source and quickly create a data view. The data view offers useful filtering, sorting and calculate features to help users extract more information from the data.

The system has in-built wizards to produce powerful presentation objects such as tables, graphs and maps. The system enables to create maps for multiple variables and on multiple themes—color, hatch pattern, dot density and charts. Users can also apply buffers or add features such as hospitals, schools, roads and river networks.
