Subgroup
From di Wiki
Subgroup is a subset within a sample or population identified by some common characteristic such as sex (male, female) and location (urban, rural), which helps in analyzing the indicator from various aspects.
Subgroups refer to the subpopulations grouped into four categories in DevInfo: Sex, Location, Age Group and Others. Under Sex, the subgroups will be Male and Female. Under location, the subgroups are Rural, Urban and Total. Examples of subgroups under age groups range are < 5 years and 15-49 years. In Others, the subgroups are Reached completion point, Reached decision point and Yet to be considered.
Subgroup is one of the components of the I-U-S combination, and is linked to indicators and units. Subgroups add meaning to indicators and units as they narrow down the data in further divisions, making it more precise.
One of the options in the Data page in DevInfo is Subgroup, in which you can view the subgroups available and those selected for the data view. To view subgroups, click on the Subgroup tab to specify the subgroups for the indicators to be included in the Data view. The subgroup window has two panes: Available and Selected pane.To select, double-click a subgroup in the Available pane. The subgroup appears in the Selected pane. Click on the View tab to view data for the specified subgroups.
In the Data view page, which gives you the data generated for your set of parameters, you can remove or add new subgroups. You can use the right click menu option to expand the subgroup column and view the subgroup categories in the Data View page.
