ZIMDAT 2007
From di Wiki
ZIMDAT 2007, a national database for Zimbabwe based on DevInfo software, has made it easy for monitoring of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and other national level development initiatives. It is based on DevInfo database technology with innovative, user-friendly features to measure socio-economic progress.
Both UNICEF and UNFPA have played key roles in the initiation and development of this database. ZIMDAT has enabled comprehensive monitoring of all key development indicators for Zimbabwe.
The Data for Development Working Group ensures the equal participation of all major players at the national and international levels in managing the database. Falling under the Zimbabwe United Nations Development Framework (ZUNDAF), it is responsible for providing strategic support for the collection, analysis, use and dissemination of data on socio-economic indicators.
ZIMDAT 2007 has proved useful by keeping track of all of the on going development activities and is particularly useful in generating statistics on areas such as HIV/AIDS, child mortality and economic growth rate. The scalability provided by this database technology has resulted in revised and updated releases every year. The generation of tables, graphs, maps and reports through this database system enables enhanced monitoring of the socio-economic situation.
