The Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has released its new national DevInfo database, updated as of April 2010. The latest database release contains a rich set of 334 human development indicators, aimed to monitor Serbia’s progress towards the Millennium Development Goals, Poverty Reduction Strategy and National Plan of Action for children. The database can be accessed online at devinfo.stat.gov.rs/ or downloaded as a desktop edition from devinfo.stat.gov.rs/rzsdevinfo/downloadse5.htm.

The updated data sets for 2009 include economic indicators (employment, salaries, external trade, income, GDP and share of various expenditures in GDP), education (educational institutions, support

for learning, gender parity indexes, enrolment, attendance and completion rates), environment (water and sanitation facilities, housing conditions), health (family planning, HIV/AIDS, child morbidity and care), technology (computers, radio sets), child nutrition (breastfeeding, malnourishment), child protection (child labour, child discipline, early marriage), social services (child allowance and accommodation in social institutions, children with disabilities, family support, foster care, pensions) and women empowerment (proportion of women in total number of employees).
