Fourteen participants attended, representing various UN agencies and national statistics offices from different countries – Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Russian Federation, Switzerland, Tajikistan and Turkey. Participants learned how to use the DevInfo Database Administration application to create their own databases and then generate their own presentation objects – tables, maps, graphs and reports – using the DevInfo User application. Additionally, they learned the key requirements for deploying their own customized DevInfo adaptations on the web, as well as the key steps to creating rapid response forms for Emergency Info, a powerful decision support system.
The workshop provided an opportunity for countries and agencies to share their experiences and lessons learned with regard to implementing DevInfo for national social statistics dissemination. Participants emerged from the workshop excited about the enhancements in this latest software release and eager to return to their respective countries and agencies to implement DevInfo 6.0. Several indicated that they planned to upgrade their existing national DevInfo 5.0 adaptations to DevInfo 6.0, now that they had acquired the necessary skills to do so. |
