for Development Results (MfDR) framework. MfDR is defined as using information to improve decision making and guide development efforts toward clearly defined goals. MfDR applies the principles of results-based management to development programmes, shifting the focus from monitoring how money is spent (inputs) to managing the results achieved. The results-based performance matrix of the NDP proposes key performance indicators and targets for the National Outcomes and Goals. Baseline values have been established for 2007 or the most recent year.
As the primary framework providing strategic direction for Jamaica, the Vision 2030 Jamaica NDP presents an ideal opportunity to utilize JamStats for the storage and management of these indicators. The DevInfo database system allows for the creation of custom frameworks in which indicators can be linked to relevant sectors, national goals and national outcomes. The JamStats database is therefore being retooled to better facilitate the comparison of actual results with the targets set for each phase of the journey to 2030. Accordingly, JamStats will facilitate monitoring, reporting and dissemination of information on progress towards achieving each of the NDP’s outcomes and targets.
Availing of the enhancements in the latest underlying software release, DevInfo 6.0, JamStats will also enable the production of a standardized country profile - a graphical report displaying the key performance indicators. The country profile is expected to enhance the policy review process by providing additional evidence for decision making. |

Completion of the retooled JamStats database awaits the review and finalization of indicators by the Thematic Working Groups responsible for indicator selection. Once the database is finalized, efforts will be focused on building capacity within the various government ministries, departments, and agencies for Results-based Monitoring and Evaluation (RBM&E) as well as use of the DevInfo Database Administration application for database creation and management.
